** Degenerative myelopathy was diagnosed, but GSD DM was not
confirmed.
* There was no evidence of
primary disease in the indigestive system, heart/vascular
system, liver or lungs, but they were all involved in the
hemangiosarcoma.

Interpretation of necropsy report:
The cause of death in this patient was acute rupture and
hemorrhage associated with metastatic hemangiosarcoma. The
primary tumor is difficult to ascertain, but the spleen, liver,
mesentery, lung, heart (right atrium) and colon were all
involved. She had a one-year history of hind limb paresis, and
evidence of both inetervertebral disc disease and degenerative
myelopathy was present on examination. There is no evidence of
digestive system, skin, ocular or other skeletal diseases. Most
of the report is a description of the various organs involved in
the cancer and the cells they contain. |
